Position: Functional Skills Tutor
Location: Norwich/East Anglia
Package: £24,000 - £26,000 pro rata 2-3 days a week.
- this is a permanent part time role, 2/3 days per week with high potential of being able to offer full time within a few months.

Functional Skills is something of a specialism across FE, one that is often underutilised to the full effect. We are looking for someone to come in and be a lead figure on functional Skills support within a training provider specialising in Financial Services.

Much of their programmes are at level 3 and above, so functional skills has not always been a big part of the provision. However, with demand, as well as funding opportunities they are looking at offering level 2 qualifications as an wider entry into the financial services market, both Apprenticeship and AEB short courses, of which - you guessed it - Functional Skills will be high on the agenda.

They want to get a functional skills specialist in to the business to support with this. Rather than 'throw' functional skills on to their other trainers, they want someone to come in who can have a sole focus on functional skills, and look at how to purposely support learners in this area.

Delivery will be remote - but we do ideally want you to be East Anglia based so you can be part of the wider team - and will be a mix of online classroom and individual sessions. So you'll have to be competent and comfortable with video and online learning platforms.

Currently we are looking for someone 2-3 days a week - unless you are happy to get involved in the wider business around learner support and perhaps curriculum development, then we may be able to look at full time - eventually they will be able to offer full time but happy with someone just wanting part time.

This role is with a small business that is growing at a good rate, and one that has excelled in the past 12 months despite what's been going on around us.

You'll be a specialist in the field of functional skills, and will be a qualified tutor (ideally holding a level 3 teaching/training qualification), and used to working with Apprenticeships and other funded programmes.

Role is available now.
