Position: Employment and Skills Coach

Location: Chesterfield, East Midlands

Salary Banding: £22,000-£24,000

NWR are working on behalf of an award-winning employment and training provider that has been supporting people into employment and into skills training since 2000. They have helped to improve the lives of over 30,000 individuals and they have supported over 6,000 businesses to recruit and upskill employees to reach their potential.

With success comes growth, and my client is looking for an AET/ PTLLS qualified superstar to join their friendly team in the East Midlands and work as an Employment and Skills Coach. The Employment and Skills Coach will be responsible for providing high quality employment support and tailored training to all learners accessing my clients training centre. The successful candidate will use their creative flare and experience within the sector to create new delivery modules and engaging courses to meet the local needs of employers and learners.

They will have a decent knowledge of the local labour market, experience of working with clients to provide a job-matching service and they will be adept at motivating and inspiring learners.

Key Responsibilties for this role include:

  • Development and effective promotion of independent learning resources and flexible learning strategies to meet learning aims
  • Produce quality approved schemes of work, session plans and delivery resources as required for classroom led sector and employer led courses
  • Delivery of quality facilitation, teaching, learning and assessment that encourages and motivates learners to remain on provision
  • To develop new course material to meet the needs of the learners and local labour market
  • To support learners one to one with their employability needs
  • To provide confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance on employment and learning opportunities
  • To manage own caseload to ensure contractual targets are met
  • To ensure learner files meets contractual compliance
  • Enrol learners for any required external exams
  • Invigilate learners' exams/tests
  • Maintain awarding bodies records
  • Ensure learners have access to up-to-date job vacancies
  • Intensive support for learners with all job search activity
  • Job match learners to suitable vacancies and placements and liaise with Employer Engagement Team/Job Brokers
  • To carry out learner reviews at milestones
  • Ensure success stories are prepared, circulated, and displayed
  • Maintain own CPD logs

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications required:

  • AET/ PTLLS qualified
  • Experience providing group delivery
  • Experienced in preparing session plans
  • Knowledge of welfare to work sector
  • ECDL or equivalent
  • Working with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working to targets
