This particular training provider caught my attention last year, near the start of the pandemic. Funnily enough, this is when they actually started the business - baptism of fire right? Well, they've done well and have continued to grow, despite all the challenges and speed bumps along the way.
So what was it that caught my attention?
It was the content they were pushing out, and the feel of the business that you could see from the outside in. They were very different from your typical training provider - very tech focused, and weren't afraid of using this to harness their marketing strategy. Very learner & quality focused, to the extent that all profit and revenue is pumped back in to the business. Which is relatively strange considering the senior team all comes from bigger corporate training providers, where arguably this focus would have been slightly different.
Fast forward to today, they've a very strong brand recognition, they deliver across Apprenticeships and Digital Bootcamps, they have a strong and close knit team - and most importantly, they're continuing to grow.
So the role…
We've got two roles. I'll put two adds up, one for each but they'll read the same. We need Skills Coaches/Skills mentors, for Digital Marketing, and one for IT Solutions.
You'll come in and inherit/take on a cohort of Apprenticeship learners who are starting out on their Apprenticeship standards in Digital marketer, or IT Solutions. This side of the role we all know (Sorry, we need you to have experience in this market to be considered) however, you'll also step in and deliver/mentor learners on the Digital bootcamps, so you will have best of both worlds and plenty of variety in this role.
Currently, all delivery is remote and online. However, they do have plans (and are open about this) to add in blended learning with some work place observations in order to benefit a wider range of learner demographic - I will note that remote will still be the dominant focus.
So technically, location does not matter for this role. You can be based anywhere, providing you are happy to travel to Derby (head office) on average twice a week. Boom, curve ball. Dealbreaker?
I hope not.
This isn't a mechanism for micro management, or backwards thinking. A real key thing that has allowed this business to succeed is the closeness of it's team. The ability to collaborate, to learn off each other, and the camaraderie. They are very close, and have plenty of team days/nights out
So if you're wanting fully remote, then perhaps this isn't for you. If you want to be apart of something, really make a difference, and get stuck into various projects with like minded people - then we need to be talking.
